Conyers Applauds Opening of CommerceConnect

Print

New Department of Commerce office will provide assistance to Michigan businesses

Congressman Conyers was pleased to hear of the opening of the Department’s first ever one-stop shop, CommerceConnect. The program puts emphasis on the integration of Commerce Department programs so that a business may receive help at every point of its life cycle. Specifically, the office will assess business needs such as access to capital, intellectual property protection, export promotion, or how to make operations more efficient. The goal is for Michigan companies to leverage federal programs in order for businesses to grow and create jobs.

“The Commerce Department offers tremendous resources for businesses, but too few businesses take advantage of these and other government services because it is difficult navigating the bureaucracy. CommerceConnect will provide a single point of contact where businesses can access the full array of Commerce programs available to them.  The office will be a partner for Detroit area business owners and entrepreneurs, allowing them to leverage several different federal programs at once.”

If you would like further information, contact CommerceConnect’s toll-free number at (888) 728-4190.
